An introduction to learning

Understanding how to learn is something which rarely appears on the school curriculum. Most parents and families assume this is something which happens naturally and is picked up as children go along. Many believe that children have a built in ability to learn everything they will need to know. Others think that learning how to learn is part and parcel of the education system and children naturally absorb it.

None of these ideas is completely true.

Many children go through school with far less success than they deserve and many more problems than they need because they have never been shown the simple how-to of learning. Every child, even those who have already shown that they have the ability to learn, can benefit from more ideas and new methods which will make learning faster, more effective as well as being more fun!

This blog is for parents, carers and teachers working together with their children
